He’s known for being the premiere defensive player in the game, inhaling every loose ball that comes off the rim, intimidating anyone foolish enough to enter the pain and having shoulders big enough to lift the entire city of Orlando on his back.  So on Sunday afternoon versus the Phoenix Suns, when Dwight Howard surpassed 10,000 career points, he shrugged and said, “I never look at the points. Rebounds and blocks are what win games for me.”

Even though he isn’t quite as impressed with his offensive output as his defensive accomplishments, I salute you, Superman, for all those buckets you’ve made in your career.  Next stop, 15,000!
