Hi.

This area is for comments, ideas, requests on players you would like to see added, or sales from auctions that I missed.  Want to help me out?  I welcome anyone who would like to post auction information on this site.  Email or leave me your email address and I can add you to the team.  Hopefully, if I can get some help, it will make this site more accurate and up to date.

Feel free to post here, ebay sales with the player, card, price and date here and I will add them to the proper players.

Just noticed that you don’t have Wade, James, Anthony in your listing. Is there a reason for this?

LeBron, Dwyane and Carmelo have too many autographs to track.

I might do it for them later, but right now, I don’t have any plans to track them.

You are welcomed to track them and post sales here, and I will provide that information on this site.

Mike, where did you find the sale of the below item?

Billy Cunningham 05 Topps Fan Favorites $89.99 4/28/08

It’s not listed in eBay’s completed listings and its only 6 days old. I would suggest that in the future, to list completed item numbers as well to add to the credibility of the site and allow others to verify these prices, including Beckett. You can post your comment here or in ozcardtrader buddy.

Have you ever heard of WaxHeaven.com? If so, have you requested that your blog be linked at the Sports Card Directory there?

I would highly suggest emailing Mario Alejandro about including you. His traffic is astronomical and he was actually featured on an episode of Sports Collecting Radio.

Good job on the site! I’ve subscribed to your blog and will be reading daily! Either Beckett and Tuff Stuff are going to have go in this same direction regarding pricing, or someone’s going to need to replace them as the “price guide” leaders…

    huperoyalty –

First off great site! It is nice being able to track this type of information especially for one that may have some of these cards that are tracked on here and are interested in what their sell values are.

Was just wondering if you know anything on the 97/98 SkyBox Autographics Tim Thomas at all? I had heard that Thomas didn’t return the cards at all to Fleer/SkyBox and that he randomly would distribute them to people that wrote to him TTM or family members? Any information you have on these as well is sale prices on them would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Sincerely,

Any background info on the Magic or David Robinson Skybox USA Autographs? Released in 1992, Beckett acknowledges them as inserts in packs, but does not price them(probably b/c they are lacking a stamp or COA). Do you have any archival info on these? FYI, I have a Robinson.

I have followed this autos for several months and noticed that around 8 autos in the set are short-printed. I have yet seen a Michael Jordan auto from the set (I might have missed it on ebay). So, what will be its selling price if the Michael Jordan is surfaced on ebay?

BTW, it’s rumored that the Kareem Abdul Jabbar base auto was not inserted in packs but was a replacement for the redemption of Monta Ellis 05-06 SPx Rookie Jersey auto.

Hey, my dad is loaning me $1100 to use in investments on basketball cards! In a few years I’m gonna sell them and return him the principal and split the profit 60/40! This is who I think I’m investing on so far. What do you think?

Lebron James Auto ~ around $500
Kevin Durant Auto Patch ~ around $200
Derrick Rose Auto Patch ~ around $200
Russell Westbrook Auto Patch ~ around $50
Jeff Green Auto Patch ~ around $50
    O.J. Mayo Auto Patch ~ around $100
Michael Beasley Patch ~ around $100
Eric Gordon Auto Patch ~ Around $70
Kevin Love Auto Patch ~ Around $40

If Possible (low end stuff – like Topps Chrome/Bowman):
Anthony Randolph Auto ~ Around $15
Courtney Lee Auto ~ Around $10
Brandon Rush Auto ~ Around $10
Brook Lopez Auto ~ Around $10
    J.J. Hickson Auto ~ Around $8
    D.J. White Auto ~ Around $5
Jason Thompson Auto ~ Around $10
    D.J. Augustin Auto ~ Around $10
(I think that all these players will be really good)

I LOVE ur site btw! It’s so great for seeing how prices go up and down because no other place does that! So because of your expertise I’m sincerely asking for your advice on how I should invest! Do you think I should change the players I invest in, etc. Do you have a specific brand of the cards to invest in instead that costs about the same (like bowman auto over chrome auto, or ud black quad auto jersey over sp authentic patch? All of your opinions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

    July 8, 2009 at 2:06 pm

I would really appreciate it if you didn’t list buy-it-now auctions.

It does not reflect the current market price of a card and sends wrong information to buyers.

An SPx Grand Finale Michael Jordan recently sold for $980, but nowhere is anything mentioned of the same Grand Finale that Burbank Sportscards sold for $1524 with a BIN. So obviously, the true market price of the card has not been determined by these BIN auctions.

A BGS 9.5 Jambalaya sold for $899 BIN, but the real market price of this card would be considerably higher, in my opinion. If another seller would happen to have the same card and want to sell it, you’ve got alot of buyers who know the $899 sell price, and are no longer willing to pay the real market value.

And just recently, a 98-99 Skybox Rubies sold for $2500 with a BIN. If just one person is willing to pay that extreme price, and all others would pay $1500 tops, you’ve got a really large price difference there.

So whether you say in the price tracker that the card was purchased with a BIN, it doesn’t really matter. The price is inaccurate because it is a price that is determined in advance by the seller, and does not reflect a true market value.

      Keith,

Thanks for the well thought out post.

I have a few answers for you.
      1. I am simply reporting what I see on eBay completed auctions. Whether you or anyone uses the information is completely up to the individual. I am NOT in any way claiming that this is the ONLY market for these cards. I am simply reporting facts. It is up to the end user to interpret what the numbers mean, as it relates to market value.

If you or anyone else does not see the site useful or real, by all means, use Beckett or another site to help you determine what cards are worth.

I use my own time to do this, free of charge/ads, and I don’t feel that I need to be 100% in depth as far as how the cards were purchased through eBay.

      If this upsets you, sorry.
      MIKE

    I have another suggestion Keith.

Since you seem to follow Burbank sales, I would appreciate it if you could give me a weekly report of what Jordan cards sell for on that site, so that I could include the numbers here, and make this site more well rounded, instead of it being just ebay sales.

Email me the numbers at emeyeceeone@gmail.com and I will gladly post them here, crediting you with the research done.

    Hi,
I just noticed that you took down your history of all the old basketball auto’s. I know you mentioned that this was not being updated, but it’s still something that I used.

I really enjoy the site and think you’re doing a great job, but honestly, w/o those listings I don’t really have a reason to visit any more….

A small suggestion. Instead of keeping track of all autographs from so many players, maybe it would be a good idea to focus on some very popular sets and a few very popular players.

    Thanks again,

    Adam
