Scottie Pippen gets his day in Chicago.

Looks like Michael Jordan is about to have some company at the United Center. According to the Chicago Tribune, Scottie Pippen is set to get his own bust unveiled during the April 7th game versus the Celtics. Congrats Scottie!

I assume a bust is just a head shot or at least, from the torso up. However, if it is a statue, I hope it is a defensive pose. As much as he was a solid scorer and Dennis Rodman was known for rebounding and low post defense, when I think of Scottie Pippen, I think of him crouched down, getting ready to D up the league’s best point guards and scorers as the premiere lock down defender on the perimeter for the championship teams he helped anchor.

This is only the second time I’ve tracked this card, and it completely blew away the sale of the BGS 8.5 version that I tracked bay in September 2009.

Dean Garrett Skybox Ruby = Ben Franklin

This was a rather surprising sale the other day. Dean Garrett was a role player who played along Kevin Garnett in Minnesota and for a time, in Denver. The seller ac-dc unloaded a few rare Garrett cards, and this by far, was the highest selling one. Either there are more Garrett collectors than i thought or someone was really chasing this set hard and needed this card. 20 bids, $100. Incredible!

I haven’t seen too many sales on this card, so I’m just curious what you guys think the market value lies at with this rare Paul Gasol autograph. Is it closer to the $85 or $25 range?
