Co-Rookies of the Year: Francis and Brand

Once upon a time at the start of this decade, the Bulls and Rockets held two of the most promising rookies in the league. Once was set to carry Chicago into a new era post-Michael and the other was an exciting, explosive scoring point guard in the mold of Allen Iverson. By the end of their rookie years, Elton Brand and Steve Francis were crowned co-Rookies of the Year. The two cards highlighted here were valued at over $100 each back then. A decade later, after ups and downs, trades, and plenty of attention in print and media, these cards could be picked up for $40, COMBINED. I love the design on these cards, and if I were still collecting, I’d probably pick them up for nostalgia’s sake.
